Pine Island Sound Fishing

ReportDate: 05.03.2025

Time: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Tide: Incoming

Captain’s Log: “KEEPIN’ IT REEL on the Water!”

The KEEPIN’ IT REEL crew hit the waters of Pine Island Sound with rods rigged and cut Spanish sardines in the cooler. The bite was steady all day, with snook, redfish, and trout showing up in force.

Catches of the Day:

  • Snook – 28” of silver fury

  • Redfish – 24” copper tank with a classic spot

  • Snook – 20” caught tight along the mangroves

  • Redfish – 20” slot-sized beauty

  • Spotted Seatrout – 13” with attitude and teeth

Highlights:

  • The 28” snook crushed a cut sardine near the mangroves, ripping drag and dancing across the surface.

  • Redfish were tailing in the shallows and slamming baits.

  • Trout stayed deeper along drop-offs, ambushing anything that moved with the tide.

Conditions:

Sunny skies, breezy conditions, and clear water. The incoming tide brought life into the Sound, stirring up bait and triggering aggressive strikes.

Bait of Choice:

  • Cut Spanish Sardines

  • Paddle tails

  • Soft plastic jerkbaits

Summary:

KEEPIN’ IT REEL made waves in Pine Island Sound—hooking quality fish, embracing breezy SWFL conditions, and making memories with every cast. Another epic day on the water!
